About Us

The Loudoun Shooting Stars (a.k.a. Loudoun Soccer 92 Black) is a U16 Girls Travel Soccer team located in Loudoun County, Virginia. The team is sponsored by Loudoun Soccer. During the fall and spring the team plays in the Washington Area Girls Soccer League (WAGS). During the winter the team plays in the Dulles Sportsplex Indoor league or Futsal program.

Coach Jim Kilfeather has coached girls soccer for many years for Loudoun Soccer in both the recreational and travel programs. He has playing experience at the collegiate level and is dedicated to player development and team building, while creating a passion for the game and the team experience. Jim was also named Loudoun Soccer's travel coach of the year for 2007. Coach Wade Johnston also has several years of experience coaching for Loudoun, and both Jim and Wade hold the NSCAA Advanced Regional Diploma and Positive Coaching Alliance Certification.

The team has engaged Jason Allen as our trainer. Jason is from Ireland and came up through the Irish Premier League system. He played in the US for the University of Vermont (NCAA Div 1) and in the USL Premier Development League as a center midfielder. Jason also carries an UEFA “B” coaching license. His professional accreditation and playing experience greatly enhances the team’s training program.

The team manager is Linda Andersen. The team manager is responsible for all administrative duties, including the registration required by Loudoun Soccer, WAGS, and VYSA. Linda also acts as the primary point of contact for many team activities.

Travel soccer requires an extra commitment from both player and parents. This commitment involves extra time, financial, and volunteer support on the part of the parents, and extra dedication and desire on the part of the player to improve their skills and support their team on the field. In return, the travel soccer program is a great venue for players to develop and progress, and it can provide a super sports experience, and pride in accomplishment for the players.
